Recording artist, Mike Scott, just released an original instrumental single and video honoring his grandfather, Anthon Scott who was from Mike’s hometown Watauga, Tennessee. His grandfather also played the banjo and later died of Black Lung from working in the coal mines of West Virginia and throughout the region. Most of the original props & artifacts seen in the video were the actual items that belonged to him. Videographer Stephen Rosney (Rosney Media / Ireland) came to Nashville to shoot the video and captured this deep-rooted history that Mike has from his family heritage. At the closing of the video, you see “Anthon” reading his Bible after a hard day of work in the mines. Before his passing, his grandfather gave land for the building of a new church near the family homeplace. This is a special tribute to Mike’s grandfather whom he has long admired but never met.
